Got the Dish Network or DirecTV? Having problems with snow or ice hindering your reception? Snow can really be a problem if you have a Tivo DVR for your dish and when it goes to record shows while you are not there, the single is down due to snow or ice.
A very simple and inexpensive solution to keep snow and ice buildup off your satellite dish is to put a garbage bag over it and pull it taut so that it does not sag. It is easy to use duct tape to seal the bag to the back of the dish. The snow and ice should fall off the bag and give you clear reception.
If it should happen to start building up on the bag, spray the bag with cooking spray such as PAM.
Additionally, you can purchase dish heaters and approved dish covers that will also protect you reception.
